The disposal of used sharps must be done using safe practices.

Used sharps must be disposed of properly , immediately and must be disposed in an Australian Standard Approved sharp container.

The standards that apply are:

AS 4031-1992 for Non re-useable sharps containers

AS 4261-1994 for Re-useable sharps containers
